The diocese provides insurance plans for all diocesan employees and for clergy and lay employees of those congregations that have elected to participate in the diocesan plans.

Medical Insurance

The Church Medical Trust has announced the rates for the different plans offered by the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia. For information on rates and a summary of the plans, follow the links below. Individuals who are currently enrolled will receive information directly from the Medical Trust.

The Church Medical Trust will announce open enrollment dates for those individuals who are not yet enrolled in the medical or dental plans. If you are interested in enrolling, please contact The Rev. Canon Ed Tracy, 757-213-3378 or etracy@diosova.org.

Three different dental plans are being offered and you must select one of them if you would like to be covered.

In order for you to enroll, you must be employed by the diocese or a parish or mission of this Diocese as an exempt employee or an hourly employee working more than 20 hours per week.

Clergy Compensation Manual & Guidelines

Each year, the Compensation Commission recommends a cost-of-living adjustment for clergy and lay employees and re-issues the Clergy Compensation Manual & Guidelines. The compensation table reflects comparable pension-based total compensation amounts based on the size of the congregation, using pledge and plate revenues and average Sunday attendance from the Parochial Reports.

These are merely guidelines to be used by the vestry and clergy to determine compensation for the clergy.
