Director of Children and Youth Ministries Advertisement (Posted September 27, 2019)
Grace Episcopal Church, located in historic Yorktown, Virginia, is seeking a creative and engaging Director of Children and Youth Ministries (DCYM) to sustain and expand programs for its growing congregation.  We are an inclusive community of faith, invested in the spiritual growth and formation of children, youth, and families. Responsibilities include inspiring children and youth to a life of faith, nurturing a community of mutual support, developing and overseeing Christian Formation programs, recruiting and training volunteers, collaborating with clergy and staff, and performing administrative duties. The DCYM must be able to relate to and work with children, youth, and their parents and be committed to meeting the diverse and unique needs of children of all ages.  Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, including written, oral, and various social media strategies, are necessary. Previous experience in youth ministry in a parish setting or a compelling alternative is essential.  Experience in both teaching and administration is preferred.  Hours are flexible, but must include your presence on Sundays, when parents and children are available, and at other times to collaborate with clergy and staff.  Salary depends on available time commitment, education, qualifications, and relevant experience. Musician & Choir Director (Posted September 24, 2019)
St. Paul and St. Andrew Church, Kenbridge is seeking a Part-Time musician and Choir Director to bolster and continue to build the music program for a vibrant small parish.  The position is for one Sunday morning service at 10:30 AM, one choir rehearsal a week and all special services as needed, i.e. Holy Week, Easter, Christmas, weddings, funerals, etc.  Compensation is commensurate with experience. Part-time Office Administrator (Posted September 10, 2019)
Johns Memorial Episcopal Church in Farmville, Virginia is seeking a part-time Office Administrator to work each Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday for a total of 18 hours a week. Applicants must be able to start work on November 1, 2019. This position works with the Rector to enable the smooth operation of the parish office of Johns Memorial. It is in support of the Rector, the Vestry, and the people of Johns Memorial as well as related friends in our community. The Office Administrator must be able to work collaboratively, must be or become proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software and be willing to learn to use new software including but not limited to the ACS management system, and similar systems as necessary. This person must have strong bookkeeping, word-processing, and related clerical skills. Soloists/Section Leaders (Posted August 21, 2019)
Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach, has immediate openings for three singers, Soprano, Alto, and Bass/Baritone soloist/section leader(s).  Weekly rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m.  Sunday services are scheduled at 10:15 a.m., proceeded by a warm up rehearsal at 9:30 a.m. Other services include Holy Week, Christmas Eve, Lessons and Carols services and other choral events. Salary is comparable to other major church choral settings. Our applicant should exhibit excellent sight-reading skills, outstanding soloist voice, prompt and regular attendance, and the ability to serve as a section leader for an amateur choir. Youth Minister Assistant (Posted August 6, 2019)
Old Donation Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach is seeking an assistant youth minister. Earn spending money doing God’s work with a great team? We seek a fun-loving young person with a heart for God, outgoing personality, who particularly enjoys middle school and high school students. This 8-hour-per-week position works with our Youth and Children’s Minister to engage our youth in fellowship and faith formation. Most work takes place on Sundays at Old Donation Church or on local outings. Prior experience in Christian camps or in the Episcopal Church is helpful, but not required. This position runs for the school year. Old Donation Church is the oldest church in Virginia Beach (1637), but full of new life with over 800 members. We are in the Bayside neighborhood of the city.
