Director, Children and Youth Christian Faith Formation Program (Posted April 20, 2020)
Grace Episcopal Church is a vibrant parish located in historic Yorktown, VA.  Located on a bluff above the York River, the church maintains three buildings: the historic church, founded in 1697; the parish hall, which houses a preschool; and a newly renovated retreat house.  For more information about the Grace community, visit www.gracechurchyorktown.org. The Director of Faith Formation for Children and Youth leads a vibrant ministry with and for the children and youth of Grace Church.  Responsibilities include inspiring youth to a life of faith; nurturing a community of mutual support; developing and overseeing Christian Formation programs for children and youth; recruiting and training volunteers; and collaborating with church leadership. We seek a candidate who is not afraid to innovate, and who will help Grace Church develop a thriving ministry which helps families connect with God and with the Grace community. The DCYM is an energetic, adventurous individual who is equipped to teach and inspire the children and youth of Grace Church and to help young people grow in their faith. The DCYM has an obvious heart for children and a sincere desire to build relationships with the children and their families.  The individual we seek is a creative thinker and teacher who can help children and youth connect to and find God in their everyday lives. Minister of Music (Posted March 9, 2020)
Trinity Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg, VA, is searching for a new Minister of Music. The Minister of Music (MM) shall be responsible for the planning and implementation of the music program for the church and be responsive to the rhythms of the church’s Liturgical year. As such, the MM should have a knowledge of Episcopal liturgy and hymnody. The MM is to have artistic and technical skills on both the organ and piano. He/she should possess sufficient vocal and instrumental conducting skills. The ability to support and encourage both beginning and experienced musicians and other participants is highly desired. This position is part-time, approximately 15-20 hours per week, yet requires the MM be available during the busiest times of the year (Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, etc.). The MM will be a reliable individual possessing enthusiasm, a sense of humor, and the ability to pass a background check. The position is open in June 2020.
