Healthcare Annual Enrollment Begins Oct. 29
Annual Enrollment for 2018 healthcare benefit plans is October 29 through November 16, 2018.

The following contains important information about our 2019 Health and Dental Benefits for Annual Enrollment for ACTIVE clergy and lay employees.

Annual Enrollment for RETIRED clergy is October 15 – December 7, 2018. Retired clergy who have a United Healthcare Medicare Supplement Health Plan through the Episcopal Church Medical Trust will not have to sign up for a new plan and should follow the instructions in the Annual Enrollment letter which they will receive from the Medical Trust.

NOTE to ACTIVE clergy and lay employees! The same plans you had last year are NOT available this year. All the plans are new. Everyone will need to sign up for a new plan this year. There is no rollover. If you do not sign up for a new plan during Annual Enrollment you will not have health insurance on January 1, 2019.

Approximately one week before the Annual Enrollment period, all currently enrolled Medical Trust employees will receive a letter from the Medical Trust with more detailed information and instructions regarding Annual Enrollment (AE) plans for 2019.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You will need to enroll using your MyCPG Account.
The user name and password you created to access your benefits information on your MyCPG Account will also be used to access the annual enrollment web page.

If you have not done so previously, you will need to create a MyCPG Account prior to Annual Enrollment.  For assistance to create a MyCPG Account, contact the Church Pension Group (CPG) Client Services Team at 1-800-480-9967, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET (excluding holidays), or email mtcustserv@cpg.org.

2019 Plans Highlights

  • 10 annual enrollment plans will be offered for 2019: 4 Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield BlueCard plans; 4 CIGNA plans; and 2 Consumer Directed High Deductible/Health Saving Plans
  • The CIGNA and Anthem plans cost the same. Coverage may be different.
  • All health plans include coverage for prescription drugs and vision, except as noted in the Consumer Directed High Deductible plans.
  • Cigna is the sole dental plan provider. The dental plans are separate costs from the medical plans.

During the Medical Trust’s 2019 Annual Enrollment period:

  • Current plan members must change their plan selections for the following year.
  • Eligible non-participating employees have the option to join a plan.
  • Eligible non-participating dependents may be added to a member’s plan without the need of a qualifying event.

Currently Enrolled Employees
Approximately one week before the Annual Enrollment period, all currently enrolled Medical Trust employees will receive a letter from the Medical Trust with more detailed information and instructions regarding Annual Enrollment (AE) plans for 2019.

Not Currently Enrolled
If you are not currently participating in a Medical Trust plan and would like to enroll, you will not receive a letter. Please contact Canon Ed Tracy or Susan Allen for signup information.

All Health Insurance plans have changed this year. Everyone will need to sign up for a new plan this year. There is no rollover.

Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) Optional Plans
You need to be on Medicare and pre-approved through the Episcopal Medical Trust in order to participate in the MSP plans. There are 8 “MSP” plans to select from for 2019: 4 Anthem MSP and 4 Cigna MSP plans. These MSP plans are ONLY available to those on Medicare (65+) or who have a spouse/partner on Medicare who will be in the Diocesan Health Plan. The plans are optional for Medicare recipients and are not required. If you would like to have the option explained further please contact Canon Ed Tracy or Susan Allen.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with Cigna Behavioral Health
In addition to the health plans, we offer a stand-alone EAP plan at $5 a month that parishes may elect to offer to their employees who opt out of medical benefits coverage. (The EAP is already included as part of every medical plan offering.) This will be billed in the same manner as the medical benefits. Your parish may elect to offer the EAP to all eligible employees who have opted out of medical coverage or to no one. Please contact Canon Ed Tracy or Susan Allen if you are interested.

Plan Documents
2019 Summaries of Benefits and Coverage and 2018 Plan Document Handbooks containing more information about the available plans may be found on the Church Pension Group website at www.cpg.org/mtdocs. (Plan Document Handbooks – including for the new Cigna plan options – will be updated on the website in January 2019.)
