Healthcare Annual Enrollment Oct. 28 through Nov. 18, 2020
Important information about 2021 Health and Dental Benefits for active clergy and lay employees.

Approximately one week before the Annual Enrollment period all currently enrolled Medical Trust employees will receive a letter from the Medical Trust with more detailed information and instructions regarding Annual Enrollment (AE) plans for 2021. If you are not currently participating in a Medical Trust plan and would like to enroll, you will NOT receive a letter. Please contact Canon Ed Tracy or Susan Allen for signup information.

Annual Enrollment for RETIRED clergy is October 15 – December 7, 2020. Retired clergy who have a United Healthcare Medicare Supplement Health Plan through the Episcopal Church Medical Trust should follow the instructions in the Annual Enrollment letter which you will receive from the Medical Trust.

During the Medical Trust’s 2020 Annual Enrollment period:

  • Current plan members may change their plan selections for the following year.
  • Eligible non-participating employees have the option to join a plan.
  • Eligible non-participating dependents may be added to a member’s plan without the need of a qualifying event.

You will need to enroll using your MyCPG Account. The user name and password you created to access your benefits information on your MyCPG Account will also be used to access the annual enrollment web page. If you have not done so previously, you will need to create a MyCPG Account prior to Annual Enrollment.  For assistance to create a MyCPG Account, contact the Church Pension Group (CPG) Client Services Team at 1-800-480-9967, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET (excluding holidays), or email mtcustserv@cpg.org.

If you wish to stay with the same plan with no changes, you do not need to do anything. However, you are strongly encouraged to check to make sure all your current CPG information is correct.

2021 Highlights - the same plans as 2020 are being offered in 2021

12 annual enrollment plans will be offered for 2021:

  • 4 Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield BlueCard plans

The CIGNA and Anthem plans cost the same. Coverage may be different. • The addition of a 40 CDHD/HSP

Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) Optional Plans
You need to be on Medicare and pre-approved through the Episcopal Medical Trust in order to participate in the MSP plans. (The process of pre-approval can take up to three months.) There are 8 “MSP” plans to select from for 2021: 4 Anthem MSP and 4 Cigna MSP plans. These MSP plans are ONLY available to those on Medicare (65+) or who have a spouse/partner on Medicare who will be in the Diocesan Health Plan. The plans are optional for Medicare recipients and are not required. If you would like to have the option explained further please contact Canon Ed Tracy or Susan Allen.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with Cigna Behavioral Health
In addition to the health plans, we offer a stand-alone EAP plan at $4 a month that parishes may elect to offer to their employees who opt out of medical benefits coverage. (The EAP is already included as part of every medical plan offering.) This will be billed in the same manner as the medical benefits. Your parish may elect to offer the EAP to all eligible employees who have opted out of medical coverage or to no one. Please contact Canon Ed Tracy or Susan Allen if you are interested.

Plan Documents
Summaries of Benefits and Coverage and Plan Document Handbooks containing more information about the available plans may be found on the Church Pension Group website at www.cpg.org/mtdocs.
