At Annual Council in February 2023 the Repairers of the Breach announced the creation of our Diocesan Racial Healing Workshop. Set in the context of our Baptismal Covenant and the Eucharist, the workshop invites participants to reflect on our experiences with race and its impacts, explore the stories we've been taught (and not taught), and recommit to this holy healing journey. Rather than an add-on program or box to be checked, the workshop is a vital piece of our lifelong spiritual formation, at the heart of the gospel's call.

As co-chair Charles Farrar said in the Repairers of the Breach presentation at Council, we designed this workshop in consultation with Dr. Catherine Meeks of the Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing in Atlanta, and we are grateful to make this work available once again in our diocese. We are creating a space to hear the voice of Jesus ask, "Do you want to be healed?" ... a space to stop hiding ourselves from our own kin and learn to empathize with people who are different from ourselves ... a brave space to keep standing and talking in the breach so we can be healed with the help of God.

All are invited to take advantage of this opportunity, but the workshop is especially important for diocesan leadership, vestries, parish staff, and members of search committees. Workshops will be held around the diocese and online. Join us!
