Treasurer's Office In the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia, we strive to manage the finances of the dioceses that support our programs and services efficiently, effectively and with complete transparency. The treasurer prepares the annual budget, publishes a monthly Revenues and Expenses Statement, and is available anytime to respond to any finance questions from clergy or members of our congregations. 2011 Budget Congregations periodically ask advice on various financial matters. The following memoranda respond to commonly asked questions: Calendar Year Requirements Audit Requirements Unemployment Insurance Manual of Business Methods in Church Affairs A comprehensive manual which supports the work of treasurers and parish administrators.
Healthcare, Pension & Compensation The diocese provides insurance plans for all diocesan employees and for clergy and lay employees of those congregations that have elected to participate in the diocesan plans.			Parish Audits Our Canons, and the national church’s Canons, require every parish and every mission to provide the diocesan treasurer a copy of their audit report.
Church Indebtedness & Architecture Commission Information for congregations that are building a facility, renovating or adding on to their existing properties, or acquiring major equipment.			Ridley Foundation An endowed trust that provides college scholarships.
Seeds of Hope Grants Seeds of Hope grants are available to congregations and diocesan groups to begin or expand ministries for social and economic justice causes.			Bishop Vache Scholarship Scholarship funds for low-income and minority college students.
