Youth Ministry in Southern Virginia

eyc logoWho are we

The Episcopal Youth Community of the Diocese of Southern Virginia is a place for youth from churches throughout the Diocese to come together in fellowship and prayer. We love to learn more about Jesus’ love and do what we can to take that love into our communities. We invite all middle and high school youth to be a part of this inclusive community.

For more information follow us on Instagram and Facebook.

EYC Board

Each year, the Diocese invites youth who are leaders in their own church communities to apply to the EYC Board. These leaders work to put on different convocation and Diocesan events for other youth. To hear more from our 2020-2021 board about their role in the Diocese, click here. If you are interested in being a part of the board, please take a look at the application form below.

Youth Event Dates

All events are for youth in grades 6-12 unless otherwise noted. Please check back here for registration information.

Trail to Truth Racial Reconciliation Pilgrimage – October 14-16 Register here

Students throughout the Diocese of Southern Virginia are invited to join us for a weekend where we explore the ideas of racial reconciliation. We will talk about the everyday biases we carry, the way media presents race, and what work the church and we as individuals should be doing for reconciliation with different communities. Saturday we will be doing a service project in the morning and then visiting the Black History Museum in Richmond in the afternoon. We’re excited to have both middle schoolers and high schoolers be involved in the event as we dig deeper into what our roles as Christians call us to do.

EYC Fall Weekend – November 11-13 Register here

Youth in grades 6 through 12 are invited to join us for a weekend of camp fun and fellowship as we explore not only what it means to be an Episcopalian, but how we share our faith with others. The EYC board has been exploring why faith matters today and are excited to share what they learned with the youth of the Diocese. During the weekend, youth will be staying in conference room housing and will have an opportunity to not only grow in their faith but also grow in community with activities around camp.

Happening #73 – March 10-12, 2023 (this event is for 10th–12th graders only)

EYC Spring Weekend – May 5-7, 2023

Episcopal Youth Event (EYE) – July 4-8, 2023
